MSc Alireza Tajeddin

PhD student
Electronic Components, Technology and Materials (ECTM), Department of Microelectronics

Themes: Advanced sensor materials, Organs-on-chip

Biography

Alireza graduated from I.A.U-Science & Research in Tehran, Iran, with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. He earned a Master's degree in Mechatronics Engineering from Sabanci University in Istanbul, Turkey, where he developed organ-on-chip (OoC) devices, specifically Blood-Brain Barrier-on-chip. He focused on modeling, microfabrication, and cell testing during that time.

He began his PhD research in the Electronic Components, Technology, and Materials (ECTM) group in June 2023. His research will concentrate on integrating electroactive polymers into organs-on-chip for actuation and sensing in order to better mimic physiological microenvironments within different organ models.
