Maria João Lourenço de Sousa
Maria Sousa is a Master’s student in Electrical Engineering, specializing in the Microelectronics track. She joined the ECTM group in November 2024 to work on her thesis project titled "MEMS Design and Micro-Fabrication for Advanced Horology." Her research focuses on designing, fabricating, and characterizing MEMS components for high-performance mechanical watches, leveraging cutting-edge silicon-based technologies.
Maria holds a bachelor's degree in Micro and Nanotechnologies from the NOVA School of Science and Technology. Beyond her academic pursuits, she enjoys staying active through volleyball and running. She is also an avid reader and loves exploring new places through her travels.
