Biography

Adriana obtained her BSc and MSc degrees in biomedical engineering at Gdansk University of Technology, Poland. Afterwards, she moved to Ghent, Belgium, where she enrolled as a PhD candidate at Ghent University. Her thesis consisted in the development of a digital microfluidic platform for the in vitro culture of bovine embryos, which was executed at the Centre for Microsystems Technology (CMST) and the IVF lab (in vitro fertilization) at the Department of Internal Medicine, Reproduction and Population Medicine, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. After completion of the doctoral dissertation, she moved to the Netherlands where she worked on the development of optical read-outs and housing for the genetically modified organisms which served as whole-cell sensors at OnePlanet Research Center in Wageningen. In May 2025, she joined the ECTM group as a postdoctoral researcher in organ-on-chip technologies.
