Biography
Alp received his PhD from Koc University in Istanbul, Turkey, where he developed wearable ultrasonic patches and ultrasound-based methods to communicate with implantable medical devices. Before that, Alp received BSc and MSc degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Karlsruhe, Germany.
For his research at ECTM under supervision of Dr. Massimo Mastrangeli, Alp will focus on developing next-generation microelectrode arrays for in-vitro electrophysiology and integrate his ultrasound background for organs-on-chip applications.
Projects
Netherlands Organ-on-Chip Initiative
To develop new microphysiological platforms to better predict the effect of medicines, based on a combination of human stem cells and microtechnology.
